The Perils of Prophecy

Writing about Biblical prophecy is an invitation for criticism (and rightfully so), but it’s so fascinating to me, I think I’ll go there — with some disclaimers.  I’ve been studying eschatology (end times theology) for about two decades now, and I’ve been really, really wrong in that course of time.  I may be really, really wrong now.  But I keep studying, and I keep trying because I’ve learned something that drives me:  the spirit of prophecy is the testimony of Jesus. [Rev. 19:10]

Barnes’ says prophecy is making known the divine will of God, and John records the angel as saying who Christ is expresses the divine will of God.  So in studying it, I glean and gain insight into the nature of God and the person of Christ.  Which means all the errors I make and the lessons I learn bring me a better understanding of my God.

In prophecy, if we don’t learn more about Christ and His nature, we are missing the point and I question whether we have really learned anything.

I’m not going to spend time on preterism (past), historicism (present), idealism (timeless), and futurism (future) theories because they exhaust me.  I’m just going to tell you what I believe (right now) and why, and leave the categories for someone else.  Also, I don’t have time here to explain why I don’t believe some things, so for now I’m just going to explain what I do believe and why.

And I’m going to tell you my take on prophecy just as fodder for your spirit, not to convince anyone of anything or sell a book.

Acharit-hayamim…the last days

There’s a phrase in the ancient text called “acharit-hayamim” that is so unique The Complete Jewish Bible doesn’t even attempt to translate it.  They leave it in the text in the original Hebrew.  (It’s considered so unique that an English translation can’t quite capture it.)

You’ll find it fourteen times in the Old Testament and seven times in the New.   Every other Bible translation translates it something the equivalent of “last days”.   You can view or download a word document with the twenty-one acharit-hayamim scriptures here.

I believe the “last days” are the times on earth from Christ’s first advent to His second, because of 1 Peter 1:20.

Time is continuum, is cyclical and circular, not so much lineal

We use the concept of time to measure history.  If we’d learn to view time and history with God’s eyes, our entire viewpoint would change for the better.  Here are some concepts the Spirit showed me and taught me to dwell on so I could better understand the nature of God…

That which has been is that which will be, and that which has been done is that which will be done.  So there is nothing new under the sun.   Is there anything of which one might say, “See this, it is new”? Already it has existed for ages which were before us.   There is no remembrance of earlier things; and also of the later things which will occur, there will be for them no remembrance among those who will come later still.

Ecclesiastes  1:9-11 [NASU]

Basically this shows us everything repeats and is on a revolution, or cycles.  Moreover, we don’t seem to bring to mind historical events and lessons or learn how to apply those lessons to our present or future.  God had me camp out on this for a long, long time.  He told me it was key for understanding how He operates.

For a moment, let’s just look at one word in this passage:  ages.  “Already it has existed for ages which were before us.”  This is a hard word to translate in this passage.  Most translations have “ages”, while some have “ancient times” or “old time”.  But the original Hebrew is “owlam” [Strong’s 5769] and is defined as “properly, concealed, i.e. the vanishing point; generally, time out of mind (past or future)”.

So the things that happened in the past, in the ancient times or old time, are concealed; they have extended beyond the vanishing point and are “time out of mind”.  And apparently we’re prone to forget them.  Just keep that in the back of your head.  Now look at Isaiah 46:8-10 [NASU]; this is God speaking:

Remember this, and be assured; recall it to mind, you transgressors.  Remember the former things long past, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things which have not been done, saying, ‘ My purpose will be established, and I will accomplish all My good pleasure’;

Here God is telling us to remember those things from “owlam”, ages past.  He is chastising us to remember the things forgotten from a time out of our minds, beyond the vanishing point and that have been concealed.  He compounds this with His identity, and this is very important!  He is the God of ancient things that have been concealed and vanished.  And here’s where it gets really interesting…

“for I am God, and there is no other”… God here is “el”, the Almighty.  There is only one Almighty.

“I am God and there is none like Me”…  God here is “elohiym”, which can be used for any god, (and the people were prone to worshipping other lesser gods), but He distinguishes here that among the gods, there is NONE like Himself.  And that word for “none” there doesn’t mean just zero, it means never existed.  So while there may indeed be other “gods” that man worships, no other god has existed to equal Himself.  Selah.

He then tells us He declares the thing at the end from that at the beginning.  And this time “ancient times” comes from “qedem” which means “front” – things literally before other things – and He distinguishes those things from things that haven’t yet occurred.

Now if you really want to stretch your mind, look at this, and we have to take it from the KJV because no one else except the Jewish Bible gets it right unless you go back to the original Hebrew:

And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Rev 13:8

So what we see here is the sacrificial Lamb was slain from the very beginning, before there was time.  [The Hebrew confirms this, and I can only assume man, in his finite “wisdom”, thought they had to correct it because it didn’t make sense to their lineal thinking.]  I need you to understand time is circular, and the very concept of Christ’s sacrifice occurred before Adam and Eve.

Now look at 1 Peter 1:20 [KJV]:

Who [Christ] verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times [archarit-hayamim] for you…

We will see again that Christ was not an answer to a sin solution after four thousand years of trying to get it right by the Law or other means.  The answer existed before the problem.    Peter explains here that Christ was destined for the earth specifically for the “last days”, the acharit-hayamim.

And just for kicks, that word “verily” is an adjective used to indicate affirmation or concession, which is “usually followed by a contrasted clause”.  In other words, when verily precedes a statement, there is a contrast that we will be disinclined to believe, but is true nonetheless.

Getting a grasp of God’s concept of revolutions and cycles of “time” will help us understand both prophecy and the present, not to mention the character of God.

Bifids and Chiasms

Considering the Israelites/Hebrews were instructed by God and His chosen people at a time the world was following other gods and the flesh, taking an honest look at the Israelites’ methods and customs would aide us considerably at understanding God.

A bifid is a literary piece that is divided into two parts that are repetitive.  One part tells its story, and then it tells it again in the other part.  They are not two different stories, per se, but two different ways of telling the same thing.  Isaiah is considered bifidic.  Chapters 1-33 tell a story, and then chapters 35-66 repeat it in a different way.

A chiasm is a stair step approach at writing where a concept is written, then repeated in reverse form, like this:

The hill of God is as the hill of Bashan; an high hill as the hill of Bashan.  Why leap ye, ye high hills? this is the hill which God desires to dwell in…                                        [Ps. 68:15-16]

Now look at it:

A  The hill of God is as the hill of Bashan;

B  an high hill as the hill of Bashan.

B  Why leap ye, ye high hills?

A  this is the hill which God desires to dwell in…

In A you see the hill of God is the hill God desires to dwell in, and in B you see the hill is high – on both sides – it steps up, then repeats down.

Look at it in Isaiah 55:8….  “My ways are not your ways, [now watch it repeat in opposite order] neither are your ways my ways…”  [my ways/your ways/your ways/my ways]

Even the New Testament writers did the same thing.  Look at Mark 5:3-5, and this one has three steps instead of two.  You make three points, then repeat them in reverse order:

“Who had his dwelling among the tombs

And no man could bind him,

                                No, not with chains.

He had been bound with chains,

Neither could any man tame him,

And always he was in the tombs…”

Now at first this may look like a simple poetic scheme, but it’s more than that.  The Hebrew writers also wrote whole books like this.  You can find chiasms by chapters in Isaiah and Daniel.  You can also find them in Revelation.   Just for example, look at Daniel.  If you pay attention you’ll see Daniel is not in chronological order.  This is a clue.

Chronologically, Daniel actually wrote the book like this:  Chapter 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 5, 9, 6, 10, 11, 12.  You can tell this because Daniel always has “time markers” for his visions.  “In the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar…”  etc.  You can historically look up those markers and see the chapters are out of chronological order.

Daniel wrote the book in a chronological order, but Daniel put the book together in chiastic form.  Why?  Because it tells a story, and his Hebrew readers would understand that story is retold in reverse order.  We have to get out of a Greek mindset of lineal thinking and seek a Hebrew mindset if we want greater understanding.  Now look at Daniel:

                                Prophecy                             Subject

A             ch. 2       the great image                                4 gentile nations

B             ch. 3       the fiery furnace              God’s people in tribulation

C             ch. 4       Nebuch. insane                                Gentile king judged

C             ch. 5       Beleshaz. killed                 Gentile king judged

B             ch. 6       lion’s den                            God’s people in tribulation

A             ch. 7       4 beasts                               4 Gentile nations

Do you see it?  Now consider that Revelation is written similarly, by John, an Israelite, familiar with Hebraic literary form and how Israelites think.

Revelation 10:6-7 tells us time ceases at 11:15.  But there are eleven more chapters of Revelation.  So Revelation must not be on a linear timeline.  When you realize this, you learn to start looking for things that repeat, and the methods they repeat.  These are clues for interpretation AND order.

Speaking of Hebrew customs and methods….

We have the whole concept of measuring time and marking events based on an entirely different counting system.  The Hebrews kept a lunar calendar, as instructed by God, and the rest of the world keeps a solar calendar, as instructed by, well… we won’t get into that right now.

But just look at the days of creation.  We find, “and there was evening and there was morning, the first [second, third, etc.] day.”  We usually operate like there was morning and there was evening…

Do a cursory word search of “moon” in Scripture and you’ll find the feasts and events were marked by the new or full moon.  Jeremiah 31:35 tells us God has a “fixed order of the moon”.  Yet the world has set up its calendar and its events by the sun.

Take a look at the Hebrew calendar and you’ll see the months run differently than ours, and that the new year is different than ours.  The calendar new year on the Hebrew calendar is in fall [Tishri = Sept/Oct], while on the solar calendar it is in winter [Jan 1].  Interestingly, the Hebrews’ religious calendar’s new year was Nisan [Mar/Apr], and the world’s used to be April 1.  But the Romans changed it to January 1 to follow the Egyptian solar way of counting.  Those who resisted the new calendar’s New Year’s Day were called April Fools, because they kept the original calendar new year as April 1.

God ordained seven feasts in Leviticus 23.  The word for “feast” is “mowed” and literally means “an appointment”, and the Hebrews considered them the equivalent of a dress rehearsal for a future event.   There are four spring feasts [Passover, Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits and Pentecost] and three autumn feasts [Rosh HaShanah, Yom Kippur and Sukkot].

Each of these Hebrew customs are clues to understanding God, who He is, and what He is saying and doing.

I do not think that word means what you think it means….

Gen 2:16-17 [NASU]

The Lord God commanded the man, saying, “From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.”

Well, either Adam died that day, or God meant something else, because we know God does not lie.  We also know Adam didn’t die that day.  So what did God mean?

Gen 6:3-4  [NASU]

Then the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; nevertheless his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.”

Well, either man’s lifespan ended at 120 years after that point, or God meant something else, because we know God does not lie.  We know man lived over 120 years after that point, so what did God mean?

Full circle, literally…

I realize I’ve had to practically bullet point these ideas, but I’m just offering some starting place counter points to western Christianity’s maddening eschatology false teachings.  Those who insist that all prophecy was fulfilled in 70 A.D. fail to understand the cyclical and chiastic structure of both prophecy and historical events.   Likewise, those who insist prophecy has some futuristic fulfillment yet disregard historical evidence of fulfillments have failed in the same misunderstanding.

God has shown us and history has proven there are cycles that repeat.  Isaiah is considered the “little Bible”.  It sets forth types and symbols, using old events to prophesy new.  Isaiah used people of his day to prophesy about people in the future.  Both sets of circumstances are true, but each set has its own application.

I’ll close with this and write more details in a future article for better understanding if there is an interest.  Recall this:  Simeon and Anna both knew the Messiah would come in their day.  How did they know?  Besides the Holy Spirit, how did they really know?

God told me years ago, “Study the first advent to understand the second.”  I’ve dropped clues throughout this article.  I’ll fill in some details in the next.

The Asexual Revolution and the Wrap-up of Earth

My working theory:

This is merely my hypothesis, and I won’t be able to get it said in 2500 words, but I’m going to try.

If you’re older than thirty, you’d have to have been living under a rock to not see the drastic changes in society and cultural norms for sexuality, marriage and the family.  They have changed dramatically here in America, and relatively quickly.

To be fair, I am not suggesting that the wide range of abnormalities (from homosexuality to bestiality to pedophilia to transgender to anything-goes) is unique to our time in history.  I think such behaviors have been throughout the history of man in varying degrees, however, I think the abnormalities have been relatively concealed and not accepted socially as normal on a wide-spread scale.  Such perversions existed, but were socially considered anomalies or freaks or mental disorders, etc.  One who engaged in such perversions had to find a culture that accepted them to be outwardly accepted.  (And I’m aware there are exceptions to this conclusion.)

For the sake of brevity, I’m going to assume the average reader is aware of the heightened perversions of sexuality in America and the judicial assault on those who adhere to traditional and moral values.  (As Dylan tweeted ) While the gay couple who drove 120 miles past 67 secular-owned bakeries (including six bakeries owned by Muslims) to get to the one bakery owned by a Christian to set up the baker so they could accuse him of violating their beliefs while demanding the Christian violate his own, this is barely scratching the surface for what the past few years have brought us.

For a moment, consider the mother who is forcing her six year old son to undergo a gender transition against the child and the father’s wishes, but with full legal support of the judicial system.  Recall the various Hollywood “stars” who have adopted children and began transitioning them to opposite gender.  Look at legislation being proposed to make gender assignment at birth illegal.

Transgenders in the open, and in disguise…

If you dare peek down the rabbit hole of transgender, you’ll find all sorts of things that will shatter any concept you thought was normal before.  You’ll hear rumors that many women who are lauded in the entertainment and social elite circles are actually men.  [Lady Gaga, Shakira, Beyonce, Megan Fox, Pink, Ciara, Sarah Jessica Parker, Sandra Bullock, Meghan Markle, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicki Minaj, Madonna, Victoria Secret models, etc.]  I’m not saying they are or they aren’t; I am saying there is disturbing evidence things are not what they seem.  You have to look past everything that hormonal altering drugs, surgery, make up, and training can alter to actually see it.  You’ll see the male Adonis belt (V-shaped abdomen, narrow hips) on many renowned alleged female “stars”.  You’ll see the male long arms, the hips that are not wider than shoulders, broad shoulders, etc.  Also telling is the inability to produce children.  How many of these “stars” have adopted children…

There are equally disturbing FTM (female to male) allegations of people like Prince Harry and Tom Cruise.  If you can see behind phalloplasty and testosterone treatments, some tell-tales are a widow’s peak, a straight neck into a smaller jawline, a s-curve in the back, and an overall smaller frame.  If testosterone treatments are later in life, (post pubescent), the tell-tales are more obvious.  When they’re done earlier, some otherwise natural feminine traits get covered-up by the alterations testosterone does.

Yes, the transgender bunny hole is disturbing when we consider that celebrities we have applauded and admired for their beauty are con-artists, yet excellent actors in every sense of the word.  But this article is not about that, and that topic is one every person will have to explore for him/herself.  I am not here to convince anyone of any particular person’s authentic gender; I am merely explaining there is much to question.

(One of) the problem(s) we get into when we even contemplate the veracity of such claims, is the shock to our normalcy bias.  Most of us reading this are male or female, and identify ourselves with our biology, even if we have preferences that cross the gender lines.  In fact, there is still a majority of the American population that is sexually normal and this type of thinking is bizarre for us.  So to think the actor or actress or musician or famous person we’ve admired for all our lives is a liar and a fake of that level of deception is, to put it mildly, shocking.  Our minds will reject such a possibility to restore our emotions to “normal”.

We go in and out of our day with our normal gender habits, in our normal daily living routine, and see people just like us day in and out, and we cannot really comprehend that this is a reality in other places.  And if it is a reality, it’s an anomaly, we think, and we file it away in the abnormal categories of things like drag queens and gay bars and other things we never really go to or frequent or even really understand much of (in such a culture), and mostly forget about it.

I’m not here to convince anyone of these very real possibilities of which many or most are actualities (though I don’t care enough to dissect and investigate every famous person’s history).  I’m just here to explain our society is in an asexual revolution.  If you leave the famous people who are actually trannies out, you can still see in real life any number of average people partaking of gender reassignments.  Youtube is replete with before and after pics and videos of people who began taking hormones to begin the process of gender reassignment.  You can see the lovely young girl who after ten months of testosterone use has full facial hair and a baritone or tenor voice.

There is the wild conspiracy theory that the royal family is a family of trannies (among other things).  Prince Harry is rumored to be a FTM from birth, and Meghan Markle was pre-selected for his tranny “wife”.  [I know how far-fetched this sounds to normal thinking.  I’m going somewhere with this, so hang with me.  I haven’t made any decisions on what I believe about this…yet.  I’m just looking at theories.]  While most of the tranny female actresses and musicians adopt children, there are some that run the ruse of pregnancy with a purchased baby bump.  This is the (conspiracy theory) explanation for the royalty births as well.

And then there are the androgynies

Now to complicate matters even worse, the entertainment industry also promotes the androgynous image.  Ancient mythology tells us that Zeus created three genders:  male, female and androgynous.  Ancient mythology incidentally also formulates the tenets of belief for cults like Freemasonry, Babylonian religions, Kabbalah, etc.  Look at the ancient religions of Egypt, Babylon, etc. and look at their images in their friezes, their statues, their artwork.  They are full of sexual scenarios, most of which are perverse.  They are also full of characters that are part human, part beast.  But back to androgyny…

Androgyny is the concept that blends masculine and feminine qualities in the same character.  It’s asexual, if you will.  If you will type “androgyny” into a google search bar and hit “images”, you’ll get an excellent example of what I’m talking about here.  Sometimes to make the androgynous connection more complicit, the name of the person is deliberately gender neutral.  (e.g.  Taylor, Pat, etc.)  An example may be “Rey”, from The Force Awakens (Star Wars)…

Is it male or female?  Is it a he or she?  Androgyny is a little of both and a little of neither.  It is asexual, and is aligned with millennia of foreign gods, with a more elaborate explanation here.  This really is a current thing in pop culture, etc.  Here’s an example of the lauding of androgyny in modern day.

Why?  What’s the point?

What I couldn’t figure out was, what’s the point?  IF these theories are legit and IF these allegations prove true, why would the people in elite status, go to such an elaborate subterfuge?  Why change gender identities in your young with the designed purpose of presenting him/her as something they are not?  (Albeit they morph into their new identity and probably even believe they are what they have become.)  Wouldn’t it be easier to not go to such lengths of deception?  (both personally and outwardly)

As I mulled this over, I heard the Spirit reference Malachi 2:15, He was “seeking godly offspring.”    To be specific, “a godly seed.”  But I’m going to circle back to this in a second.  This is the understanding we need, but first…

A group of us are studying the Sermon on the Mount and we were on the section of praying (Mt. 6:5-8).  Even though the topic was prayer, when I read this in Adam Clarke’s commentary, it helped me understand the current topic as well:

Prayer is the language of dependence; he who prays not, is endeavouring to live independently of God: his was the first curse, and continues to be the great curse of mankind. In the beginning, Satan said, Eat this fruit; ye shall then be as God; i.e. ye shall be independent: the man hearkened to his voice, sin entered into the world, and notwithstanding the full manifestation of the deception, the ruinous system is still pursued; man will, if possible, live independently of God; hence, he either prays not at all, or uses the language without the spirit of prayer.

When you can relate the original sin as the desire to live independently of God, all other sin makes sense.  Now let’s go back to Malachi 2:15, but in greater depth.  From the New King James:  But did He not make them [Adam and Eve] one, having a remnant of the Spirit?  And why one?  He seeks godly offspring.

From the King James:  And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed.

I’ve pored over this passage in the various translations, taken it back to the original Hebrew, and pored over various commentaries on it.  Did God not make them one?  God made ONE man [Adam] and ONE woman [Eve], and made them ONE flesh.  The original Hebrew makes the translation into English a little disjointed.  Just to keep my breakdown honest so you understand my explanation, here’s the original Hebrew:

Rwach  she’ar  asah  ‘echad  lo’  = Spirit, residue/remainder, to do or make, united, one, not

The English sets prepositions and articles into the text to clarify, but I understand it as a question that says with the residue of the Spirit at Creation (by breathing into the man the spirit of God, making him a living soul), God made one man and one woman to be one flesh.

Elohim  zera  baqash  echad  mah  le =  supreme God (plural), seed/posterity, to search out, united/one, why/what/how, for the purpose of

What is the purpose for one?  Godly seed.

This is so important but I don’t have space to go in depth on it.  What you have going on in Malachi is the Jews had been divorcing their Jewish wives to intermarry foreign women, who of course introduce their foreign gods.  God was rebuking the Jewish men for this and ended with “I hate divorce”.  In his explanation of his reasons (through Malachi) God says this, Look, I made one man and one woman to become one flesh.  My purpose was to have godly seed on the earth.  Men and women who are made in MY image, that look and act like ME.  A creation that looks like its Creator.

How does this connect with the transgender, homosexual and other sexual perversions being promoted in our society?  People who want to live independently of God don’t want God’s design.  In fact, people in rebellion to God want anything BUT God’s design.  They want a different system.  They want to be their own gods.

Three major resets on the earth

We have three distinct times there was a reset on humanity’s timeline:  The flood, the tower of Babel, and the Cross.  The flood was the major reset button as far as humanity living on the earth is concerned.  All but eight individuals were wiped out.  The tower of Babel and the Cross reset the circumstances on earth but didn’t reset the population.  The flood and the tower of Babel were roughly two hundred years apart, with the flood first.  They were roughly at the 2000 years into humanity’s timeline.  The Cross came 2000 years later.  We are about another 2000 years after that.

[The prophecies of Malachi were written about 400 years before Christ and that gap is known as the 400 Years of Silence because no word of the Lord came forth from Malachi until Christ.]

The resets for humanity arrived because of significant alterations to the plan of God.  The flood came because humanity had rejected and rebelled to God’s order.  We find in Genesis 6:2 and 4 that fallen angels had intermarried with the daughters of men creating a hybrid of people referred to as the Nephilim.  The Nephilim were the “mighty men … men of renown”.  While the people of earth praised and feared these people, they were a corrupt people.  Scripture tells us their wickedness was great and their thoughts and imagination were continually evil.  (Gen. 6:5)  God regretted making man on the earth and desired to destroy it but two things prevented Him:

First, He had already uttered a decree (see Gen. 6:3).  He said he would not always “strive with man, for he is also flesh, and his days will be 120 years.”  Contrary to popular Christian false teaching, this does not mean the length of a man’s life was to maximize at 120 years.  It means flesh on the earth was relegated to 120 years.  While the English is translated “years”, the Hebrew is shaneh, which is a revolution of time.  In Scripture a Jubilee is considered a full cycle of time.  Fifty years is a Jubilee, and 120 revolutions of time would be six thousand years.  God set the expiration date for humanity on the earth, and it was not to expire until He decreed.  By his own decree, utter destruction at this juncture (the Nephilim and wickedness on earth in the days of Noah) was not possible.  (Because God does not lie and He keeps His word.)

And second, Noah found favor (grace is the proper definition) with God.  This is key because in Genesis 6:9 we find that the generations of Noah were perfect AND Noah walked with God.  This literally means Noah’s generation or bloodline, was pure – without Nephilim blood.  Compare this to Abraham’s plea with the angelic messengers sent to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah.  He pleaded that God would surely not destroy a society if there were also righteous in it.  God agreed.  Noah was righteous with no defilement of his bloodline by intermarriage AND Noah walked with God.

These two reasons are why God didn’t utterly destroy civilization in the Flood.  He preserved a remnant.

Godly Seed is the original plan

In Malachi, God’s last prophecies before Christ, we learn plainly that God desires godly offspring, and the way to get that godly offspring is to keep the original design for procreation:  one man and one woman created in the image of God.

If I were the devil intent on leading humanity into independence from God, I’d want to destroy the original design.  In his book, Enoch goes into great detail of the teachings of the fallen angels to the men on the earth, and how they taught humanity to pollute their bloodline by all sorts of sexual defilement, (including but not limited to sex with animals to produce other creatures, and sex with fallen angels to produce demi-gods).  This was the social environment on the earth in the days of Noah.

The Flood created a pretty clean slate, having destroyed the rest of the living.  However, just three generations from Noah the rebellion started again.  Noah’s son Ham had a son named Cush who had a son named Nimrod.  Nimrod means “rebellion”, according to Jewish authorities.  Scripture tells us Nimrod became a powerful tyrant (“mighty one”) and started his own kingdom of city-states.  The first was Babel (see Gen. 10:10).

According to The New Complete Works of Josephus, published in 1999, Book 1, Chapter 4, Paragraph 2-113 to Paragraph 3-117, page 56 to 57, we learn:

“Now it was Nimrod who excited them to such an affront (insult) and contempt of God. He was the grandson of Ham, the son of Noah, a bold man, and of great strength of hand. He (Nimrod) persuaded them not to ascribe (attribute) it to God, as if it was through his means they were happy, but to believe that it was their own courage which procured that happiness. He also gradually changed the government into tyranny, seeing no other way of turning men from the fear of God, but to bring them into a constant dependence upon his power. He also said he would be revenged on God, if he should have a mind to drown the world again; for that he would build a tower too high for the waters to be able to reach and that he would avenge himself on God for destroying their forefathers!”

“Now the multitude were very ready to follow the determination of Nimrod, and to esteem it a piece of cowardice (weakness) to submit to God; and they built a tower, neither sparing any pains, nor being in any degree negligent about the work: and, by reason of the multitude of hands employed in it, it grew very high, sooner than anyone could expect; but the thickness of it was so great, and it was so strongly built, that thereby its great height seemed, at first, to be less than it really was. It was built of burned brick, cemented together with mortar, made of bitumen (slime), that it might not be liable to admit water. When God saw that they acted so madly, he did not resolve to destroy them utterly, since they were not grown wiser by the destruction of the former sinners; but he (God) caused a disturbance among them, by producing in them diverse languages, and causing that, through the multitude of those languages, they should not be able to understand one another.”

“The place wherein they built the tower is now called Babylon, because of the confusion of that language which they readily understood before; for the Hebrews mean by the word Babel, Confusion”

So already within two or three centuries of the flood we have a people group in rebellion to God and God’s ways, and God reaches down and resets the current society on earth by confusing their languages so they couldn’t carry out their plans.  The people dispersed and their plans were (temporarily) abandoned.

We further learn that the bloodlines of humanity are corrupted again through Nephilim blood, after the Flood.  We see later in Genesis, in Abraham’s day, the ungodly seed have again begun populating the earth.  You probably haven’t been taught this in your western churches, but the Rephaim and its tribes, are all Nephilim, aka “giants”.  Their tribes are listed in Scripture as Emim (the fearful ones), Rephaim (the dead ones), Anakim (the long-necked ones), and Zamzummim (people whose speech sounds like buzzing).

No, this corrupting of godly seed didn’t stop at the Flood.  Is there some reason to think it doesn’t exist today?

The third reset came almost two millennia later with the prophesied arrival of the Messiah.  That reset offered humanity a way to walk with God in love and obedience.   Israel had failed to be the society that reflected relationship with God.  Society was corrupted.  Christ came in with a reset to reconnect humanity with their Creator.  (I am really abbreviating this.)

Remember  God’s words?  He will not strive with man forever.  His days are numbered.  Earth’s days are numbered.  Flesh on earth is limited to 120 years.  (or 120 jubilees which equals 6000 years)

Where else have we learned this?  Oh yes, Peter.  Peter reminds us the ancient earth was destroyed by water in the ancient past and the present earth will be destroyed by fire.  [See 2 Peter 3.]  But notice the interesting thing he takes pains to remind us of:

2 Peter 3:8-9 NASU

But do not let this one [thing] escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.  The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

Peter just reminded the believers the earth was going to be destroyed again, but next time by fire.  Then he reminds them that they should not forget a day is like a thousand years to God and a thousand years like a day.

The ancient Hebrews knew the Lord created the earth as a template.  They knew the Creation was the model for humanity on earth itself.  So each day of Creation represented a thousand years of life on earth.  Life on earth, as the ancient Hebrews knew it, would wrap up at the end of the sixth day, or after 6000 years.  And Peter was reminding the believers of not only the Lord’s return, but also the final destruction of the earth, and in those reminders he interjected the reminder of the thousand years.

Christ Himself said the coming of the Son of Man would be just like “the days of Noah”.  [Mt. 24:37]

If I were the devil intent on leading humanity into independence from God, I’d want to destroy the original design, but now I’d have to be even more crafty.  If I knew the surest way to destroy the God-purposed destiny for man was to destroy man in the image of God, I’d set about destroying the tools that replicated that design.  I’d have to destroy procreation and replace it with a perversion of it.

The interference of demonic influence led the original man (Adam and Eve) away from intimacy with God.  Nothing has changed.  This has been going on for six millennia.  But studying those who have gone before, we can learn some of the techniques the devil uses to corrupt humanity.  Remember that all of humanity was corrupt in the days of Noah.  They had intermarried with fallen angels (demonic) blood.  They were set on evil continually.  God reset with the Flood.

Nimrod led the world back into that position when he founded Babylon and was building the tower of Babel.  Remember that Mystery Babylon of John’s Revelation is the origin of the depravity of humanity on the earth in the revelation.  Nimrod’s agenda didn’t die; it just went underground.

The angel in Revelation called Babylon “a dwelling place of demons and a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean and hateful bird. For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the passion of her immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed acts of immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich by the wealth of her sensuality.”   [Rev 18:2-3 NASU]

If the kings of the earth have committed acts of immorality with this spirit of rebellion, this spirit that rejects God’s sovereignty and rejects intimacy with God, what quicker way could they do such than by rejecting God’s design for “godly seed”.  If they pervert the model for marriage, for family, and for offspring, this is surely the quickest way to rebel to God’s leadership and manufacture their own system.  This system would be a mockery of God’s.  It would subvert the model for marriage and children.

But because Christ reset humanity two thousand years prior, and there is a righteous remnant that has not rejected the leadership and intimacy with God, this would be a hard sell publicly.  There are quite simply too many people who want to walk with God, who embrace God’s plan.  Sure, they could carry out their plans in secret, and make a mockery of God’s plan in secret – breeding corruption, evil and destruction.  They could infiltrate arenas with their perversion – but how would they manage to subvert God’s plan mainstream?

If I were the devil and if I could find a people group to assist me in this plan, I could accelerate it and modify the human race out of the image of God and into whatever my evil imagination could accomplish.  I could get a certain percentage of people to buy into this just by tempting them with personal autonomy and affirming rebellion to God.  It’s your body!  It’s your choice!  You can do whatever you want with your body!  This would appeal to the immature, the selfish and the ignorant.

But there’s a population that this won’t appeal to.  So for that group I could inject things into their environment that would cause gender confusion.  I could use the people in the independent group who demand their own rights over their own bodies who abort their babies.  Then I could take the aborted baby parts and use them in all kinds of things like “artificial and natural ingredients” in their food.  (e.g.  Senomyx which uses HEK-294 from aborted baby cells)  And I could use aborted baby tissue in things like vaccines.  If I used WI-38 (the cell lines from aborted females), then I could confuse the male recipients by flooding their DNA with extra X chromosomes.    I could use the MRC-5 (aborted male cells) as well, so that a female would get Y-chromosomes.  It won’t be as effective for the females getting confused because they’ll just have an extra Y chromosome.  But it should be a lot more effective for males confusing them with female genes, because they’ll be flooded with two extra X-chromosomes!   To ensure there’s a consistent flooding of confusion, I’ll increase the vaccine schedule from the five doses given in the 60s, and from the 24 doses given in the 80s, to the 72 doses they now get!

So whatever portion of the people I couldn’t get by enticing them to rebel against God, and whatever people I couldn’t get by tempting them with autonomy in their sexual endeavors (through anything BUT the traditional model, the original plan – e.g. LGBT, androgyny, etc.), I would have to malign their humanity in subversive ways:  GMO, DNA-modifications, chemtrails, AI, cloning, transhumanism, etc.

Sexual perversions prevail, and there’s an agenda to make them mainstream.  Some are joining in ignorantly, while others are in willful rebellion to God.  Altering the gender and sexual identity of humanity is to alter the work and will of its Creator.  It is to manufacture independent systems and to replicate the corruption of the earth that led to the Flood.  It is quite plainly, the beginning of the end.

But again, this is just a working theory….

Some Astrological Events to Pay Attention To

And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draws nigh.

Luke 21:25-28

What a time to be alive! This is the best time ever to be a child of God on the face of the earth! We are witnessing the very evidence of these signals Christ gave His disciples – here! Now! For a child of God, it cannot be more exciting than this! We are living Romans 8:19-24 right now! All of creation has been groaning and suffering pains of the revealing of the sons of God. The futility the creation has been subjected to is coming to a head and God is faithful to keep His Word.

If you’ve been complacent, apathetic, asleep, or just plain distracted, wake up! Dust off, shake out, and make sure you have oil in your lamp! The word “signs” in the passage above means an “indication”1. Do you realize an indication is “a sign, signal or symptom that something exists or is true”2?   Christ said there would be indications from the celestial show house! What can the sun, moon and stars be indicating exists or is true? How fortunate for us that man cannot manipulate the celestial forces. What happens beyond man’s power is indisputably God’s power.

The word for “stars” in Luke 21:25 properly means a constellation1. So according to Christ, the sun, moon and constellations will indicate something exists and is true!

Last year, on November 20, 2016, Jupiter entered Virgo’s abdomen area and will stay there for 42 weeks, exiting on September 9, a few days from now. For Jupiter to remain in the constellation Virgo’s abdomen for 42 weeks, it has to engage in a rare retrograde motion. Additionally, Leo, with its primary nine stars, will move to the head of Virgo and Mars, Mercury and Venus will line up in Leo, making a sort of 12 star crown on the head of Virgo. The moon will be a crescent at Virgo’s left foot and the sun will be on her left shoulder. It appears that for the first time in seven millennia3, the sky will depict Revelation 12:1-2.

And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:

(And if you wondered, that word “wonder” in Rev. 12:1 is the exact same word for “sign” in Luke 21:25.)

As if it couldn’t be any plainer, all of these aligning of stars will take place on September 23, which also happens to be Rosh Hashanah, (the first fall festival known as the festival of trumpets). Rosh Hashanah is the beginning of the Jewish (spiritual) New Year and is a rehearsal for the coronation of a king. This sign will occur over Jerusalem’s sky in a matter of weeks. What could God be indicating exists or what is He signaling? And why is He revealing it on the Feast of Trumpets over Jerusalem?

If we return to the Luke 21 text, we see other things happening as well. The next thing listed is “upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity”. So there appears there will be some anxiety going on in nations – and that word for nations is actually “ethnos” from where we get the root word for races1, and ethnicity. It appears anxiety is manifesting among ethnic groups and it is causing “perplexity”, which actually translates “a state of quandary”1. A state of quandary is defined as “a state of uncertainty or indecision as to what to do in a difficult situation”2.

Going on…”the sea and waves roaring” – pretty self-explanatory. And then, “and men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.” (vs. 26) So basically this means men will be faint-hearted with fear because the things coming on the earth will cause anxiety.

It’s important you catch this, because it’s been taught rather poorly (and erroneously) in our religious institutions. The “tribulation” spoken of is not seven years. It is quite simply NOT a seven year tribulation. I know, I know, that’s what is taught prevalently. Just hang on a minute. Think: if the seven seals, bowls and trumpets were unleashed in a seven year time span, do you really think people are going to carry on, eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, buying and selling, planting and building? Oh sure, some would, but certainly not a majority. If a third of civilization was killed by war, earthquakes, famine, pestilence, drought, disease in the matter of 86 months, most people would at least pause. We are deceived if we believe there will be a seven year tribulation, and I can prove that. (just email me – it’s not for this essay)

No. The anxiety people will be facing will be in short bursts: an earthquake here, a hurricane there, a drought over there, and a war over here. It will not be one wide-spread panic or mass hysteria. It will be in pockets at different times. That is why John recorded FOUR TIMES in two different places that after a series of judgments the people “did not repent” of their deeds, even though they suffered tragedy through the action of judgment4. Just like Christ is recorded in the Luke 21 passage as men being anxious for the things going on the earth, but says nothing of repentant hearts.

What He does say, and what we’d be good to pay attention to is that when we see these things happening, look up! Literally, “unbend”1. (I find that hysterical in our modern era of bent heads over cell phones.) And lift up your heads! For we are to know our redemption draws near! In our lifetime! It is coming; it is just around the corner! Wow. “…our redemption…” literally our “ransom paid in full”1 – our debt to our Creator will be satisfied and the bill canceled. Our redemption will be at hand, approaching, drawing near.

Again, what an amazing time to be alive on the earth! Scriptures are being fulfilled and the time of our King’s coronation is approaching! There is no better time to evaluate our lives, our hearts, our minds, our spirits and see if we are ready for our Lord’s return! I urge all brethren in all places to unbend! Lift up your heads and be ready, diligently found in the service of the King when He arrives, not sleeping, partying, or shirking our responsibilities!

If you think I am being dramatic I would counter, no more than the hour demands! If you have been blinded by the false teachings in the western church, consider a few things to help unravel the confusion.

Daniel is not written in chronological order. Neither is Revelation. They are both written in chiasms, and Revelation has a form of bifed incorporated. This means the Scriptures were written in an overlapping pattern, repeating elements with different details to give a broader scope. The seven seals, bowls and trumpets of Revelation overlap and tell of the same events, but with different detail.

The overwhelming catastrophes of these judgments are spread over the last 2000 years or so. They are not one time events that happen on one specific date at one specific location. God has been faithful to warn every generation since Christ in a variety of ways. These judgments have been going on since the revelation of Jesus Christ given to John. I put together a rough list of just the major known events in history since the death of Christ and my rough totals look like this: (email me for the document if you want specifics)

  • Historic Famines, droughts and peculiar epidemics:              176,150,000 – 186,150,000 dead
  • Historic plagues, pestilences & epidemics:                 300,304,000 – 575, 305,000 dead
  • Deaths by wars:        211,096,000 – 598,000,000 dead
  • Natural Disasters:  15,235,298+ dead
  • The Christian Martyrs:           70,000,000 (see notes below box)

(20th century alone: 45.5 million deaths which means 65% of total Christian martyrs are in the last one hundred years) Total since Christ is 70 million martyrs

Current rate of Christian martyrdom: 287- 288 martyrs/day or 12/ hour or one/ five minutes

For a grand total of 1,444,690,298. That’s one and half billion people just with notable recorded historical events, and those figures don’t count the ten most famous conquests of history that span 855 years over time. Those figures are just a baseline.

My point is simply that the “end times” has been a perpetual timeline of the days of the apostles on. This is why Peter was able to quote Joel fifty days after Christ’s resurrection about it being the “end days”5, and why we can continue to quote him today in 2017. The difference is we’re at the end of the end now while Peter was at the beginning of the end. The signs are our clue to just how close to the return of Christ we really are.

It’s an exciting time to be alive on the earth! The only ones who need to fear are those who are not in covenant with Christ, and those who are but are not being obedient. May the coming days, months and years find God’s people awake and walking in step with Him as we lift up our faces in anticipation of the return of our King.

5Acts 2:17

The Days of Lot – part one

It was the same as happened in the days of Lot: they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building; but on the day that Lot went out from Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.  It will be just the same on the day that the Son of Man is revealed.

Luke 17:28-31  NASU

It will be as the days of Noah, the days of Lot, when the Lord of lords, King of kings, Messiah and Son of God is revealed on the earth.  Lot, the man who picked the more fertile land to settle in when given the choice by Abraham.  Lot, the man whose wife was turned into a pillar of salt for looking at what the angel said not to.  Lot, the man whose daughters got him drunk so they could have sex with him and propagate the family line.  Lot, who Peter called righteous…  (not what I was thinking of calling him).

Lot…an example our Lord gave of what earth would look like at His return.  Why is this the analogy the Lord uses at the most pivotal time the earth will see since the Cross was raised?  Lot…the days of Lot.  Our Lord depicts a normal life going on, look:  commerce, trade, futures, building and planting!  Normal life going on when the Son of Man is revealed.  NORMAL activities.  Not the cataclysmic Armageddon the Left Behind series depicts.  And why did God select two times on earth to equate the setting for His return:  the days of Noah, and the days of Lot?

I was disturbed when I read about God rescuing “righteous Lot”.  What did He mean “righteous”??  He settled in Sodom – the hot seat for sin in the territory.  He offered his daughters to the men of the city who wanted to rape the angels!  What is righteous about that?!?

Oh the mysteries of God!  Oh the deep counsel of His heart!  If only we would learn to pursue His heart for His understanding, to cry out for His wisdom, wouldn’t our lives be radically changed?  Peter had insight into this, look:

For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, reserved for judgment;  and did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly;  and if He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes, having made them an example to those who would live ungodly lives thereafter;  and if He rescued righteous Lot, oppressed by the sensual conduct of unprincipled men (for by what he saw and heard that  righteous man, while living among them, felt his righteous soul tormented day after day by their lawless deeds), then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment,  and especially those who indulge the flesh in its corrupt desires and despise authority.

2 Peter 2:4-10a  NASU

And this is where we gain insight and counsel:  Lot saw and heard lawless deeds all about him, and it tormented his soul.    The activities that were going on in his city, in his society, his environment, were oppressive and disturbing to someone who was trying to live righteously.  He was “vexed with the filthy conversations of the wicked” according to the King James.  The original Greek would indicate vexed as worn down with toil, labored, filthy as licentiousness, and conversations as behavior [see Strong’s Concordance].  The New American Standard translated this as “oppressed by the sensual conduct of unprincipled men”, but the richness of the original language is slightly obscured by this translation.

Now, what does it look like, what does it feel like, to be worn down by continual talk and behaviors that are filthy, sexually immoral?  Apparently this behavior was so vexing to Lot, who was posited in the midst of this culture, that he would do the unthinkable:  offer his virgin daughters to wicked men!  Apparently his soul was so tormented by this culture that his only solution was to try to straighten what was crooked, i.e. put the right and natural thing in their midst to offset the perverted wickedness.  And Peter, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, called this man righteous.  (in right standing with God)  Surely this is just a little mind-numbing to ponder!

But these days of Lot, these days of perversion and wickedness and no barometer for righteousness, these are the days that will be on the earth at the return of Christ.  But wait!  Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed “as an example for those who would live ungodly lives thereafter”!  Basically the Word of God is telling us:  you’ve been warned!

Now the emphasis I’m intending isn’t really the sexual deviances of our culture, as that’s a given and obvious.  It’s the other part Christ refers to:  “they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building…”  In the midst of a corrupt society!  The righteous are settled in the midst of these societies!  The righteous are vexed by the corruption!  Society is carrying on in its normal activities, doing the work thing, the home thing, the family thing, the friend thing, the growing thing, and simultaneously the society has vexing sexual deviances in its midst that is hostile to right living.  Perversions are abounding in the midst of a “normal” society; all this is co-existing with the righteous in its midst.

Be careful.  We are living in the days of Noah and in the days of Lot.  Yes, it can get worse.  Yes, it can get plainer (for those with eyes to see), but it is still here right now, in this place and at this time.  Sexual deviances abound, we’re still buying and selling, building and planting, marrying, eating and drinking, and the righteous are vexed, worn down toiling against the corrupt systems of the earth.  As Daniel [12:10 NASU] said, “…but the wicked will act wickedly; and none of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will understand.”   The wicked will continue being wicked, and only those with insight or wisdom will understand.  The time is nearly ripe for the return of our King.
